1. What is Esthetics?
Esthetics is a
specialty section of education taken from
Cosmetology, which deals specifically with more
training? Specifically, the health and
beautification of the skin, both face and body.
2. What is the
difference between a Cosmetologist and an
Esthetician?
A cosmetologist is a
hair care specialist, who has minimal training on
skin care. An esthetician is a skin care therapist
who has special training in the study and care of
the skin.
3A. What job
opportunities will I have with an Esthetic License?
With your license you
can go into many different areas within the field of
esthetics such as: medical esthetician, make-up
artist, cosmetics buyer, cosmetic researcher, beauty
editor, instructor of esthetics, etc. We will
discuss the different avenues you might consider in
the program. This will assist you in finding an area
that appeals to your interest with skin care.
3B. Do you help
students find employment?
We will assist you in
finding a position; however finding a job is not a
guarantee. The student’s level of professionalism
will better the odds of getting the position.
3C. What kind of
employment success have graduates had?
We have a 92%
placement ratio.
4. Can I sit in on a
class?
We will schedule an
appointment that allows a prospective student the
opportunity to attend a current class for one full
hour. This will give you a better view of the
classroom setting.
5. What is the
average class size?
The average sizes of
our classes are 20 students per class, with a
maximum of 25 students.
6. When do you begin
practical (hands on) training vs. lecture?
We incorporate both
practical as well as lecture from the very first day
of class. Approximately, the last 300 ending hours
of the course is a concentration of practical study
to prepare you for the esthetics industry.
7. What percentages
of students pass the test?
Our current pass rate
for the State board exam, both written and
practical, is 98%. This pass rate is due to our
commitment in grooming you for success.
8. Do you teach
essential oils and aromatherapy?
The course does have
a basic overview of aromatherapy and essential oils.
We do at times offer advanced classes in those two
topics, so keep in contact and ask to be places on
our mailing list for advanced classes.
9. Do you teach other
advanced course?
We teach many current
and hot industry advanced topics such as
microdermabrasion, bridal make-up, airbrush make-up,
and I-TEC training valid in 25 countries. Other
topics are discussed but not shown in a practical
aspect.
10. Do you teach body
treatments?
Yes, we actually
teach body treatments in our equipped professional
clinic wet/shower area.
11. Do you teach
advanced massage?
No, that is not apart
of our esthetics program, only skin care massage.
12. Can I pick and
choose when I want to attend class?
Absolutely not, once
you enroll for a course you are to attend the
scheduled program. We want to track your progress to
maximize your education and have you act in a
professional manner. You will be informed of your
start and ending dates for the class you enroll for.
13. If I was working
in the industry and wanted to come back to “freshen
up” would I be welcome?
We always discount
courses as well as products for our students and
graduates. The door is always open for your needs
and concerns we just ask you call beforehand so we
can set an appointment to better assist you.
14. How do the
courses both full time and part time work?
Full time is during
the week, Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:30pm, it takes 17
weeks to complete give or take holiday and school
closings. Part time is Monday-Thursday 6:30pm-9:30pm
and alternating Saturdays 9:00am-5:00pm also give or
take scheduled school closings. We don’t offer
weekend class due to the reservations of advanced
classes.
15. Do you have
outside speakers come in to teach? Do you teach the
business aspect?
Yes, we have guest
lecturers come in to speak with and train our
students. We spend an entire Module on business
practices and job skills.
16. Do you use any
other products besides Simple Solutions? If not, can
I bring other products in?
In addition to Simple
Solutions we use Aquasante, we import various other
products to keep you abreast and knowledgeable of
the leading products in the industry today.
17. Do you go on
tours? If so, I work during the day does that mean
I’d miss out on that?
Yes the school
participates in the Spa and Resort Expo and Beauty
Shows related to our field and they are mostly held
during the day although they sometimes do not end
until 7pm.
18. Will I get the
same teachers that teach the day classes?
There are different
teachers for the day and for the night, however
teachers do substitute for one another and you might
get to experience a teacher from the day if you’re a
night student or the night if you’re a day student.
19. What kind of
payment plans do you offer? Do you accept government
grants?
It's best to speak

financial aid programs which may be available to
