ADVANCED ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY
A thorough understanding of the cellular structure and components of skin, as part of pre- and postoperative care is imperative.

MICROBIOLOGY SAFETY & HEALTH
Standard operating procedures to ensure public safety as well as your own.

ADVANCED COSMETIC CHEMISTRY with PHARMACOLOGY
History of drugs both over the counter and prescription. An understanding of how ingredients and drugs are manufactured and function including contraindications, drug interactions, and labeling.

MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY
The language of medicine.

MEDICAL & LIFESTYLE ASSESSMENT and NUTRITION
In depth consultation and patient medical history, assessment and recordkeeping for medical environment.

MEDICALLY TREATED CONDITIONS AND TREATMENT
Advanced skin analysis, disease and disorder identification and treatments.

CLINICAL SKIN CARE AND ADVANCED FACIALS
Clinical protocols used in medical environment.

LED LIGHT THERAPY AND OVERVIEW OF LASERS
For Skin rejuvenation.

ASSISTING THE PHYSICIAN
In depth look at the esthetician’s role in a medical setting.

You will also visit a medi-spa and a plastic surgeon’s office in Manhattan.
